Lime cake is a year around type of cake. My son requested one for his birthday, so I went for simple and subtle design.
Purchase your favorite white cake mix. I prefer Duncan Hines. Mix cake according to the directions, but substitute fresh squeezed lime juice for the water. Bake as directed, cool and frost with a vanilla whipped frosting. I melted down my frosting a bit for a poured look. Add green food coloring to desired shade of green. Zest outside of lime and let dry out a bit on a paper towel. Decorate cake with zest.
Enjoy!
