My first attempt at the French Macaroon. Pretty fall color, pale orange. Taste was very good. Over-all, I was pleased. They were a bit flat. The recipe instructed me to make Hershey's kiss size cookies. That was too small. So I tried a bit bigger for the next batch, but those were a bit to large. My sister did warn me that they are a challenge and she was right. Hope to do better next time.

6 oz. blanched almonds
1 1/2 confectioners sugar
3 large egg whites
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
food coloring
I attempted 5 times till they looked like Macaroons!

ReplyDeleteI have tried 3 then after reading it said it's in the mixing process where you ensure perfect shape...I got them looking ok... but not like the real ones :( I have a pastry teacher that's supposed show me how to make them
